Investing in PNA people

Building the expertise needed for sustainable tuna fisheries, nationally and internationally.

Our background

Investing in PNA people

Since the PNA Members developed the PNA Office and implemented the Vessel Day Schemes (VDS), the PNA has enjoyed considerable success and international recognition for the collective management of their tuna fisheries.

To ensure these investments of the PNA members continue to grow, having sufficient human resources and expertise is needed more than ever to fill the high-level skill and knowledge gap where it has been previously filled by non PNA nationals.

The PNA’s Capacity Development Program is an investment of the PNA members to build and enhance the capacity of PNA Nationals in areas essential to maintaining and strengthening management of its sustainable tuna industry.

Our vision

Internationally recognized expertise

Develop the capacity of PNA nationals to become internationally recognized experts in their own fields that will be of use in the sustainable development of tuna fisheries, nationally and internationally.
